The Diamond of Darkhold

I've read the 4th book of the "Ember" series, The Diamond of Darkhold.
A bit dark (ha-ha) but think it would still be okay to read to my 7 yr old. He is really enjoying the series (having read 2 of them now.) My oldest is reading the 3rd book and then we'll trade!

The series skips around in time which is interesting, with the 3rd book being a pre-cursor to the others. The fourth goes back to the original time line.

The Help

I LOVED this month's bookclub pick! (Thanks, Sheri!) It was written so simply, yet so eloquently. Really makes you think about things. It reminded me of Coming of Age In Mississippi (takes place in the same town, same time.)

It makes you wonder what you would do if you lived in another time...
Would you be strong enough to stand up and make a change?
or Would you try and not rock the boat to save your skin?

Eon

I am reading Eon-Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman. (Again, I'm reading from the kid's section of the library. But- if you had a wild 4 year old you might not want to enter the quiet zone either!) I am loving the imagery and great vocabulary she presents. Probably more of a 14+ book in my opinion because of some of the violence and sexual strata of the Chinese court.
Really like it so far and will let you know!
